Argonaut Named 2022 Champion of the River by Cuyahoga AOC Advisory Committee

Congratulations to Argonaut, recognized as the 2022 Champion of the River! Argonaut is a local non-profit that introduces Cleveland high schoolers to maritime careers through hands-on learning experiences. Students crew Flotsam and Jetsam, Port of Cleveland’s vessels. They harvest 300,000 pounds of floating debris annually, rescue people on the water, and escort commercial vessels.

The Cuyahoga River AOC Advisory Committee hosted a celebration in honor of Argonaut at the Old Coast Guard Station on November 16, 2022. Advisory Committee Chair, Jennifer Grieser, Argonaut Co-Founder, Drew Ferguson, and students Anthony Croom and Devin Carrington, spoke at the event about the history of the Cuyahoga River and the impact of Argonaut’s programming.
